CHILDHOOD CANCER IS NOT RARE

15,780 KIDS ARE DIAGNOSED EVERY YEAR
THAT’S 43 KIDS, A SCHOOLBUS-FULL OF KIDS, EVERY SINGLE DAY
This means A CHILD DIES BECAUSE OF CHILDHOOD CANCER EVERY FOUR HOURS.
EVERY. FOUR HOURS.

Our children deserve more than 4% funding (yes, you read that right, only 4% of all funding goes to Childhood Cancer research).

HOW CAN YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE? (yes, YOU)

Here are some wonderful organizations to get involved with, you can participate in their events, donate $$, share posts, and more:

The Truth 365 – The Truth 365 is the Emmy Award-winning documentary film and social media campaign that gives a voice to all children fighting cancer. We plan to shine a light on the state of childhood cancer research funding by uniting the childhood cancer community, our elected leaders, top pediatric oncologists and several of the country’s most influential celebrities. But in order for us to help our children, we will need your support and participation. All we need is for you to follow and share this page. If you want to be a part of this project, please Like this page and share it with your friends and family.

rally
The Rally Foundation – In 2005 a 12-year-old boy named William was fighting a brain tumor for the second time in two years. A simple and impassioned request from one mom to another asked, “How can I help?” William’s mom replied: “Raise money for childhood cancer research, and fund the best research wherever it may be.” Rally’s mission was born that day, and in the 9 years since our founding, we’ve awarded more than $7 million in research grants, funding 120 cutting-edge projects and fellows across the country.

1 Million 4 Anna Foundation – Our mission is to eradicate Ewing’s Sarcoma. We will remain vigilant to the needs of suffering adolescents and their families. We will provide university scholarships for students who have battled, or continue to battle, the disease. We will fund promising Ewing’s research. Our commitment is to empower young cancer survivors and warriors in varying stages of their journeys through inspiration, education, and eradication. The 1 Million 4 Anna Foundation was founded in January 2012. But we began long before that. After Anna was diagnosed with Ewing’s in November 2009, many of us found ourselves searching something to do or some way to help. Initially, we found that the best thing we could do for Anna was to pray for her. With that in mind, the idea for 1 Million 4 Anna was born. People pledged to pray for Anna daily at 12:12 PM, a time selected because of Romans 12:12 which says “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Integrated fully into social media, Anna’s friends pledged, shared, posted pictures, tweeted, and ultimately said over a million prayers on Anna’s behalf. During Anna’s life, 1 Million 4 Anna was a source of inspiration, hope, and love that strengthened her resolve and brought her friends closer together. When Anna passed away, she left behind a group of close friends, tighter than they’d ever been before, and more impassioned than ever about ridding the world of Ewing’s Sarcoma. Harnessing the love and commitment of Anna’s wonderful friends and family, the 1 Million 4 Anna Foundation aims to honor her incredible legacy and embody her fighting spirit.

The Cure Starts Now – Every 9 minutes a child is diagnosed with brain cancer. Brain cancer is the deadliest of all childhood cancers, yet the most underfunded. The Cure Starts Now raises funds for ground breaking research and innovative treatments for these children. It started with just one child. It started with just one heart. Today, The Cure Starts Now Cancer Research Foundation (501c3 Federal Non-Profit) is one of the only cancer foundations dedicated to a “homerun” cure for all cancers, starting first with one of the most deadly and difficult cancers: pediatric brain cancer. Many experts believe that the lessons we learn from fighting pediatric cancer may in fact provide us with the critical first step in winning the battle against all forms of cancer, both pediatric and adult. The Cure Starts Now represents a revolutionary new strategy in cancer research: one that fights cancer not according to numbers but instead, based on knowledge and research. And isn’t that the way we’ll ultimately win the battle? The Cure Starts Now’s mission is one that knows no boundaries and stops at no borders. It is an international effort of families, friends, businesses and even strangers, united in the desire to cure cancer, one child at a time. While it all started with one child, today, the inspiration is carried by us all.
